The Strokes Used

In tennis, the forehand stroke is the most common stroke used. They use the dominant hand on the dominant side of the body.

They use backhand strokes with the non-dominant hand on the dominant side of the body. They also serve with the dominant hand from behind the body.

In pickleball, the backhand stroke is the most common stroke used. This stroke is hit with the non-dominant hand on the dominant side of the body.

The forehand stroke is hit with the dominant hand on the non-dominant side of the body. The serve is also hit with the non-dominant hand from behind the body.

The Equipment

Tennis rackets are typically much larger and have a more open string pattern than pickleball rackets. This allows for more power and spin on shots, but can make the racket more difficult to control.

Pickleball rackets are smaller and have a denser string pattern, which provides more control at the expense of power and spin.

In terms of balls, tennis balls are larger and have a much harder surface than pickleball balls. This makes them difficult to keep in control, but they bounce much higher and travel faster than pickleball balls.

Also, pickleball paddles are typically made of wood or composite materials, while tennis rackets are typically made of metal.

The Court

They are both played on a court, but there are some key differences between the two.

For example, tennis courts are typically larger than pickleball courts. This means that there is more room for players to move around and hit the ball.

Tennis also has a net in the middle, while pickleball does not. This can make it more difficult to hit the ball over in tennis. This can make them harder to control, but it also means that they bounce higher.

The Scoring

In tennis, the game is played to four points. You score a point by winning a rally, and the first player to reach four points wins the game.

In pickleball, however, the game is played to eleven points. You score a point by winning a rally, and the first player to reach eleven points wins the game.

Also, tennis courts are much larger than pickleball courts. This difference in court size means that pickleball players have to be a lot more strategic in their shot selection.
