Kelleher gets courtside seats through his dealership’s longtime sponsorship of the 76ers. When he zonked out, the team was nursing a four-point lead in its bid to even the best-of-seven series at two games apiece. Philadelphia held on to win, 116-108.
“I get it. I get that everyone saw the moment in time and thought, how can the guy be asleep courtside at one of the most exciting games? But I was just exhausted,” Kelleher said. “I’m an easygoing guy. I can certainly take one to the chin — and I’m just having fun with it, you know? It’s my moment in time, and for a guy that gets a lot of moments in time, this is just fun.”
Kelleher said he planned to attend Game 6 of the series but would be well out of camera view in a suite.
