Federation of Indian Pilots on the artistic portrayal of Indian Air Pilots in Runway 34

[ad_1]

Recently released Runway 34 has caught the attention of  the Federation of Indian Pilots who issued a press release clarifying the roles and responsibilities of air pilots. It was mentioned that Runway 34 has an unrealistic portrayal of the profession of air pilots and could create apprehension in the minds of nervous fliers.

It pointed out that,  while it was good to be kept entertained and appreciate the artistic capabilities of the film-makers, it should not be coincided with extraordinary professionalism of air pilots who fly thousands of miles every year with immense responsibility of safety.

It also mentions that there are over eight-thousand pilots in India who embody high skills and capabilities and are accountable, trained and professional. Their skills are rarely matched and emerge daily as they are trusted with multiple lives and costly equipment they use.

Talking about the movie, it mentions that certain characters in it don’t accurately represent their profession adding that the profession has zero tolerance over behavior and substance abuse. Pilots are required to abide by highest standards and honor the trust placed in them by the employers, aviation regulators and public.
