Do’s And Don’ts Of Microblading Your Brows

[ad_1]

Arched, feathered or full—few would disagree with the fact that our brows are one of the most striking features on the face. They frame the face and have the ability to transform it. While one can use any number of pencils and gels, or even get their brows tattooed, there’s another semi-permanent option that brings you the perfect brows you desire, with minimal upkeep needed—Microblading.

Microblading uses a special pen to create small, precise strokes to imitate the effect of real brow hair. The technique’s natural look has made it popular amongst many. You may have seen your favourite influencers and creators sporting it, and are probably curious about this technique. So we spoke to Ashmi Singhai, Grand Master and Founder of Browmasters Studio in Bandra, to find out all the do’s and don’ts of microblading your eyebrows. Read on to know all that she shared!

Pre-Microblading Care

1. Don’t pick, wax, tweeze, or have electrolysis during the week before the session.

2. Don’t sit in direct sunlight for two weeks prior to the appointment.

3. Avoid any type of facial or chemical peel two weeks before the session.

4. Quit using any vitamin A products for a month before the session.

5. Don’t exercise on the day of the session.

6. Avoid facelifts three weeks before.

7. Don’t consume fish oil or Vitamin E during the week prior (since these are natural blood thinners).

8. Don’t tint your eyebrows during the three days before the session.

On D-Day

1. Don’t consume any alcohol 24-48 hours prior to your session.

2. Don’t drink coffee two hours prior.

3. Don’t take aspirin or ibuprofen 24 hours before the appointment.

Post-Microblading Care

1. No water should touch the brows for 24 hours. Post 24 hours, you can gently wash your brows with water and antibacterial soap such as Cetaphil. Make sure the soap is completely rinsed off and dry by gently patting with a tissue. This will ensure the pigment doesn’t come off.

2. Don’t use cleansers containing exfoliants or acids.

3. Apply a small amount of rosehip or coconut oil to the brows every morning and night.
