Popular Maryland rapper Goonew, best known for his distinct whispery delivery and his frequent collaborations with Lil Dude, died last month after being shot by rivals.

His funeral service was held this weekend – and MTO News learned that his family and friends gave the rapper a send off unlike any we’ve ever seen before.

First, his family rented out one of the most popular clubs in the city – and held the memorial service inside while playing the rapper’s music.

Then they actually had the rapper’s dead body on stage – embalmed – and dressed up in his best outfit, MTO News has learned.

Here’s video from the night:

The service was undeniably unique and one to remember for all in attendance. Born Markelle Antonio Morrow, rapper Goonew died at Prince County George Hospital after succumbing to gun shot wounds. He was 24.
