Bob Carter to retire as Toyota N.A. sales boss in N.A. exec shuffle

[ad_1]

Toyota Motor North America announced a series of top-level executive moves, including the pending retirement of its longtime head of sales, Bob Carter, effective this month.

The moves reshuffle a large number of the Japanese automaker’s North American executive team.

Carter, 62, who has been with the automaker for more than 40 years, will retire June 30 as executive vice president for sales. He will be succeeded by Jack Hollis, who has been executive vice president of automotive operations, reporting to CEO Ted Ogawa.

Hollis’ top role over the automaker’s two brands will fall to Andrew Gilleland, who’s been serving as head of the Lexus division. Gilleland will be succeeded atop Lexus by Dejuan Ross, who’s been a vice president of sales with Toyota Financial Services.

Tracey Doi, group vice president and CFO, will retire effective Aug.1.

Also retiring is Zack Hicks, the head of Toyota Connected, who is being succeeded by Steve Basra.
