When director SS Rajamouli announced years ago that Jr NTR would play 20th century freedom fighter Komaram Bheem in his magnum opus RRR, there was obvious curiosity among fans, who knew little about the historical figure. Today, as the film has opened worldwide, audience can finally enjoy Rajamouli’s magical spin on the life of the revolutionary. But for the residents of Komaram Bheem’s native place, Asifabad, in Telangana, RRR is not just a film. It’s a chance for them to relive the story of their hero, courtesy

Picturetime’s inflatable theatre.
Continuing its attempt to take theatres to the corners of the country, where cinemas are still an impossible dream. Picturetime has set up a theatre in Asifabad’s Komaram Bheem Distruct, an area interestingly named after Komaram Bheem. Picturetime has created history as this is the first theatre in the town in the last 30 years. RRR had garnered excellent advance bookings and the theatre is running to packed shows. The screening of RRR in Asifabad has brought special joy to SS Rajamouli and the team.

The RRR Director, was elated to visit the site at Asifabad where the crowds joy knew no bounds ..He attended the screening and interacted with the audience.
Rajamouli says, “I am immensely happy to be here and to witness all of this. To see the movie based on Komaram Bheem, whose role is played by Junior NTR…. To watch that character in KomaramBheem district itself.. is an amazing feeling all together. And I’m thankful to Picturetime and the District Administration to make this possible.”

“In the past, all over Andra Pradesh and Telangana there were 3000 theaters.. after the pandemic and after all the tough times we all went through, there were only 1600 theatres.  It was my dream that the film reaches every part of this country .. a dream now fulfilled through Picturetime” he adds

Last month Picturetime Collaborated with the Government of Telangana, the District Rural Development Agency ( DRDA) and Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty ( SERP) with the help of Zilla Mahila Samakhya, a registered society and the apex body of women self-help groups (SHG’s) at the district to establish the first cinema theatre in the region.

To this, Rajamouli says “The First theatre in India whose functioning is taken care by Women (Zilla Mahila Samakhya) is installed at the district supported by Picturetime is indeed a spectacular initiative”

It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to call RRR the most record breaking film of the year. The multi-starrer action drama is a fictional tale of two Indian freedom fighters from the early 20th century— Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju (played by Ram Charan). The film also stars Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn in special roles.

After setting up inflatable theatres in Ladakh, Andhra Pradesh and Haryana and hosting regional film festivals, Picturetime has arrived in Telangana with a crowd-puller like no other.
