Here’s an Ayushmann Khurrana fact you probably didn’t know – The actor almost had a role in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, one of the longest-running TV shows. Ayushmann has revealed that he had auditioned for a part in the daily soap a long time ago. However, it eventually went to actor Pulkit Samrat.
Ayushmann Khurrana is known for choosing unconventional roles. But before he began his Bollywood career, he made his name through the reality TV show Roadies. In a recent interview with a leading news portal, he shared that he also auditioned for Ekta Kapoor’s Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.
When asked if he ever considered a TV show, he said, “Yes, I did. It was a Balaji show, I do not remember the name. Perhaps it was either Kasauti Zindagii Kayy or Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Pulkit Samrat did that role eventually. Actually, I made it as an RJ by the time when I auditioned for the show. So I told my casting director ‘Bro, I am going’. So I could not do that TV show.”
The show was indeed Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi in which Pulkit Samrat played the role of Lakshya Virani. Its run began in 2000 and ended in 2008.
Ayushmann Khurrana was recently seen in Anek. Directed by Article 15 filmmaker Anubhav Sinha, the film revolves around a conflict-ridden area in the North East of India. It also featured model-turned-actor Andrea Kevichusa. Ayushmann is attached to star in Doctor G alongside Rakul Preet Singh and also in An Action Hero.
