JugJugg Jeeyo is one of the most anticipated releases of the year. The film has an excellent cast including Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor. As the release date draws nearer, the makers have dropped the first track from the film. Titled ‘The Punjaaban Song’, the dance number is poised to be the latest wedding anthem.
The Punjaaban Song is sung by Gippy Grewal, Zahrah S Khan, Tanishk Bagchi and Romy with lyrics from Tanishk Bagchi and Abrar Ul Haq. The music video is set during wedding celebrations. It opens with Varun Dhawan’s Kuku breaking into a dance joined by Neetu Kapoor’s Geeta who plays his mother in the film. They’re joined by Kiara Advani who plays Kuku’s wife Naina and Anil Kapoor’s Bheem. The song is quite the banger.

Varun Dhawan’s dancing skills are on full display while Anil Kapoor brings his signature energy to the dance sequence. Overall, one can easily see the track playing at upcoming weddings. To note, the song’s release was embroiled in controversy as singer Abrar Ul Haq (who has now been listed in the song’s credits) alleged that it was plagiarised from his track. However, the makers responded to the plagiarism accusations by saying that the song was purchased from the singer.
JugJugg Jeeyo is billed as a family comedy directed by Raj Mehta. The film’s plot revolves around two generations of a Punjabi family as they navigate the ups and downs of married life while exploring the subject of divorce.
Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani have been doing promotional rounds for JugJugg Jeeyo of late. The film which also features Maniesh Paul and Prajakta Koli arrives in cinemas on June 24 this year.
