How to Take Phone Calls on Mac and Disconnect Afterwards

Now, open your iPhone’s Settings, tap Phone, then Calls on Other Devices. Next, toggle the switch in the field for Allow Calls on Other Devices.

After that, go to your Mac, launch FaceTime, and then click the FaceTime tab on the menu bar. Next, select Preferences. Then, under the Settings tab, put a checkmark on the box beside Calls From iPhone.

To call someone from your Mac, ensure that your iPhone is nearby. Otherwise, the Wi-Fi network signal may be too weak to connect the call.

Once you’re all good, open the Contacts app and search for that person’s number. Then, click Call, the button featuring a handset logo. The FaceTime audio and video call buttons should also appear if that person is on an iPhone.

If you choose FaceTime audio or video, the call only connects if the other person is on a Wi-Fi or data service. If not, you might only hear continuous ringing until the call drops.

When someone calls you, you should see a notification on your Mac. Click the Answer button if you want to take it.

Once you’re ready to hang up, click the End button on the FaceTime app.
