3 Ways to Improve Mobility During Injury Rehab

Are you ready to move more freely without feeling pain?

Regardless of where your injury comes from, one of the most important aspects of recovery is injury rehab. If you want to heal, you should know what steps to take to improve mobility.

If you want to find out how to improve mobility during rehab, read on and we’ll tell you what you need to know.

1. Choose Easy Exercises for Those With Limited Mobility

No matter what kind of exercise you do, you’re bound to experience health benefits. Regardless of your physical situation, there are three types of exercises that you should try to incorporate into your daily routine.

Ankle Mobility Exercises

When you have good ankle mobility, you’ll develop a better sense of balance, have fewer falls, and perform better while you’re working out.

If you’re wondering how to improve ankle mobility, one of the best things you can do is to work on your ankle dorsiflexion.

To do this, start by standing next to a wall and placing one hand on the wall for support. You should then slowly rock forward until you are on your tip-toes. Then slowly rock back to your heels. Repeat this movement ten times.

Opening Your Hips

If you are recovering from an injury, it’s important to know how to improve hip mobility. You should warm up the hip and its surrounding muscles before you start any exercise routine.

You can do this by standing tall with your feet hip-width apart. Put your feet firmly on the ground and lift your knee to your chest. You should then make a circle with your knee by bringing it close to your body, out to the side, and then down to the ground.

Repeat this exercise for each of your legs at least five times.

2. Overcome Your Mental Barriers to Exercise

It’s common for people who are in sports injury rehab to have emotional barriers that keep them from exercising. People often feel self-conscious about how much they weigh, and about their disability.

One of the best things you can do to overcome these barriers is to try your best to focus on what you can do instead of what you can’t do. You can also start being more creative with your workout routines. When there is something that you can’t do because of your disability, consider trying something different that you can do.

3. Try Pediatric Orthopedic Physical Therapy

Pediatric Orthopedic Physical Therapy is a great practice for those who want to correct and treat issues with the musculoskeletal system. It’s a technique that can help youth whose ages can range from several months to eighteen years old. You can find out more at truemotionllc.com.
